'AI visibility' gets sold like a mystery. It isn't.
AI visibility isn't a mystery. Learn why discovery questions matter more than brand-name checks, and how to improve your presence in AI answers.

The mistake most of us make is checking AI answers that include our brand name... but think about it, if someone is asking ChatGPT about your brand name, they already know you exist. So while it's important if they're *comparing* you to a competitor, it's not as important for *discovery*.
People will describe a problem and ask AI who can help... this is where you want to appear in the answer. This is where people will discover your company.
So stop asking ChatGPT 'do you know my company?', it's the wrong test. Instead ask the questions people would ask to find someone who does what you do.
AI platforms don't behave in the same way, either. ChatGPT tends to mention more brands but shows fewer citations, Claude is more conservative about who it names and Perplexity generally shows its sources, which is why a 2025 study found it averaged more visible citations per prompt than ChatGPT.
Put simply, AI visibility (or GEO, AEO or a million other acronyms at moment) comes down to four things: finding the specific questions where you're absent from AI answers, publishing content in your real voice (not generic copy that AI models and people alike learn to ignore) and getting that content onto the channels those models actually cite from. Then, you need to check whether your AI visibility and coverage moved as a result.
Which is where platforms like Ghostart come in. A solo founder with an hour or two a week can manage their AI visibility/GEO with Ghostart. So can a team of 11–50 with a marketing lead and a few subject-matter experts usually needs a system to coordinate who writes what and where it goes.
