Write in your own AI tool

Ghostart works in Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Ghostart tells you what to write and why, gives your AI tool your company’s approved facts and voice, and checks the draft. You paste the finished draft back into Ghostart, which checks it again before it’s approved and published.

Who can use it

Writing in your own AI tool is included on Ghostart’s Basic and Growth plans. Create, Ghostart’s own editor, stays open to everyone either way.

A company admin decides for the company in Company → Settings → Team & access: they can turn it off, or choose one AI tool for everyone. Otherwise each person picks their own.

Set it up

First, in Ghostart, open Settings → Where you write and choose Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot. Then add the connector to your AI tool. The connector is called Ghostart and its address is https://mcp.ghostart.io. There’s no new account to make: you sign in with your Ghostart login.

Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Ghostart and paste the address https://mcp.ghostart.io.
  3. Choose Continue with Ghostart, sign in, check the account Ghostart shows, and choose Allow.
  4. Optional: in Settings → Connectors, open Ghostart and set its tools to Always allow, so Claude doesn’t ask before each use.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT’s settings, add a custom connector.
  2. Name it Ghostart and paste the address https://mcp.ghostart.io.
  3. Choose Continue with Ghostart, sign in, check the account Ghostart shows, and choose Allow.

Not every ChatGPT plan lets you add a custom connector, and on a work plan your admin may need to turn it on. If ChatGPT doesn’t offer it, write in Create or Claude.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

Copilot connectors are added by your company’s IT team, once for everyone. Ask them to add the Ghostart connector at https://mcp.ghostart.io. Each person then signs in with their own Ghostart login the first time they use it.

What to ask

Once it’s added, ask in any chat. Name Ghostart, so your AI tool knows to use it:

  • “Use Ghostart to tell me what I should write next”
  • “Use Ghostart to write my next piece”
  • “Use Ghostart to check this draft”
  • “Save this to Ghostart as an idea”

When the draft is ready, copy it into the piece waiting for it in Ghostart. Ghostart checks it again there, then it goes through your company’s approvals and publishing as usual.

What the connector can do

It has seven tools. Your AI tool uses them when you ask it to.

get_ghostart_next
Suggests up to three pieces to write next, from your company’s Work in Ghostart, each with why. Or says why nothing needs writing this week.
get_ghostart_brief
Gives the brief for one piece: what to write and why, the format, and the facts, words and evidence your company has approved for it.
get_ghostart_ideas
Lists your unused ideas in Ghostart, and the company ideas shared with you.
get_company_facts
Gives your company’s approved facts, the words it uses and avoids, and its evidence with sources.
get_voice_brief
Gives your company’s voice from its Brand Bible, and your own writing voice when you have one.
check_draft
Checks a draft against your company’s facts and voice, and says what to change before you use it.
save_ghostart_idea
Saves an idea from the chat as your own idea in Ghostart. Your AI tool asks you before it saves.

What it changes in Ghostart

Saving an idea is the only change the connector makes, and only after you agree. Everything else only reads. It can’t publish, schedule, approve or delete anything, or change your company’s facts, voice or settings. It works as the person who signed in, in the companies they belong to.

Stop using it

  • Remove the Ghostart connector in your AI tool’s settings.
  • Or choose Create under Where you write in Ghostart’s settings.
  • A company admin can turn it off for the whole company in Company → Settings → Team & access.

Your data

The connector runs on BeigeCheck, a writing-check service that Ghostart Ltd also runs. What you write in your AI tool, and what it keeps, is covered by your agreement with that tool and your settings there. The privacy policy explains what goes where.
